First off, thanks for volunteering to help us test the new Bitcoin functionality on testnet for Hiro Wallet! đź’“đź’“
- To get started, you need version v3.34.0 installed in your browser.
- If your browser hasn’t already auto-updated your installation to this version, install the build manually with these instructions.
- Or switch to Firefox and install from their add-ons page since it’s known to be approved there already
- Once you’ve installed, enter an existing Secret Key or create a new burner wallet for testing.
- Then go to the app menu in the top-right corner and select “Change network” and “Testnet”:

- You should then see a Bitcoin address for copying upon selecting “Receive” on the home screen:

- Copy that address and paste into into the Bitcoin testnet faucet of your choice. Here are a few to try:
- https://tbtc.mocacinno.com/
- https://testnet-faucet.com/btc-testnet/
- Wait for the transaction to deposit by viewing it under “Activity”
- Confirm that the transaction is properly shown to come from the address indicated by the faucet and with the correct amount
- Once confirmed, select “Send” then “Bitcoin” to view the send modal
- Enter a recipient and amount for your BTC transfer
- Ask a friend for their Bitcoin testnet address or use one from another of your wallet’s accounts
- Check that the information on the preview screen is correct and confirm
- Wait for the transaction to send by viewing it under “Activity”
- Confirm the transaction is properly shown to send to the address you indicated and with the correct amount
- Most importantly: Report any bugs or improvements you’d make to the overall experience by:
- Submitting a GitHub issue here
- Posting a message in the #wallet channel on Discord
- Emailing [email protected]
